Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP)



If you're planning on making a career out of your love for flying, eventually you will have to go for your Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP).
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. In order to obtain the ATP license, you will have to demonstrate knowledge of the aircraft and flying in the highest standard and more than any other license.
Theoretical subjects included for ATP applicants are:

* Air law
* Aircraft General Knowledge
* Flight Planning and Monitoring
* Human Performance and Limitations
* Meteorology
* Operational Procedures
* Principles of Flight
* Communications (IFR & VFR)
* Performance
* General Navigation
* Radio Navigation
* Instrumentation
* Mass and Balance

Requirement for ATP:

• Be at least 23 years of age and be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
• Be of good moral character
• Hold at least a commercial pilot license with instrument rating in the appropriate category and class of aircraft
• 1500 hours total time
• 500 hours cross country flight time
• 100 hours of night flight time
• 75 hours of instrument flight time; simulated or actual
• Pass aeronautical knowledge test with at least a 70%
• Pass practical test

The ATP typically requires around 10 hours of flight instruction if you are current on instruments and in the category and class of aircraft you will be testing in.
